SPEAKERS:
November 14 - Dr. Ira Smolowitz - AIC Professor of Finance will speak about the Value of Select Counter - Intuitive Business Practices. Smolowitz is an author of many articles and currently writes a monthly column for the newsletter of the Springfield, MA. Chapter of APICS (Advancing Productivity, Innovation, and Competitive Success). He is a former president of the Springfield Chapter of FEI (Financial Executives International). He received his B.A from Brooklyn College and his M.B.A both in NYC and his PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Springfield Rotary Club Awards 7 Paul Harris Awards at Banquet
The Springfield Rotary Club awarded seven Paul Harris Awards at its 94th Anniversary Paul Harris Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 2nd, at Chez Josef in Agawam. The 2008 recipients are Julianne L. Dulude; Edward P. Sunter, Jr.; Gary P. Fishlock; Susan A. Mastroianni; the Springfield School Volunteers; Brian P. Sears; and Trevor J. Gay (not pictured).

A Paul Harris recognition is the highest honor a Rotary Club may bestow on an individual or group who may or may not be a Rotarian. It is awarded in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given and exemplifies the Rotary International Motto "Service Above Self".
The Springfield Rotary Club has presented over 150 Paul Harris Fellowship Awards throughout the years. Each award represents a gift of at least $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation. A recent Rotary Foundation project has been "Polio Plus" - helping to create programs throughout the world to eradicate polio. They have also awarded scholarships to students throughout the world dedicating themselves to "Peace Studies".
