SPEAKERS:
AUGUST 15th - Oliver C. Mitchell, Jr., Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Carpenter Technology Corporation of Reading, PA will address the Springfield Rotary Club. Mitchell¹s topic will be "I was just thinking.." Carpenter Technology Corporation is a NYSE-listed corporation that manufactures and sells specialty metals and engineered products. Mitchell was born and raised in Springfield and is a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was an Assistant US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. He served as First Assistant DA for Hampden County and was a member of the Board of Directors for the MA Bay Transportation Authority.
AUGUST 22nd - Captain Mike Duclos, of Tiderunner Charter and Guide Services. His topic will be "Saltwater Fly and Light Tackle Fishing What Fun." Duclos has always enjoyed the outdoors, especially the ocean and fished Long Island Sound since 1981. He obtained his Captain's license and in 2007 established Tiderunner Charter and Guide Services. He uses his years of experience on the ocean to guide fishermen and women. Duclos was on the Board of Directors of the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce for 6 years and served as Chairman of the Board in 2003. For the past 25 years, he and his wife, Kris, have owned and operated NEVR, Inc., a small, privately owned filing systems dealership in Monson, MA. They sell everything from color-coded labels to high-density movable shelving systems to the medical, financial, and legal industries throughout New England and across the country.
