SPEAKERS:

October 24th - Jim Kaplan, Former Sports Illustrated Writer and author - His topic will be his latest book Walkoffs, Last Licks and Final Outs; Baseball's Grand (and not-so-grand) Finales" which he co-authored with Bill Chuck. In addition to being a former Sports Illustrated writer, Kaplan is an author of 18 books, 12 of them about baseball. Walkoffs, Last Licks, and Final Outs is the definitive collection of baseball's grand--and not-so grand--final acts. It celebrates the moments that became instant classics--like Carlton Fisk waving fair his home run in the 1975 World Series--and memorializes those tragedies from baseball's ignominious lore--like Fred Merkle failing to touch second base and forcing a 1908 National League tiebreaker.

October 31st - Sy Becker, Longtime 22 News TV personality and Movie Critic - Sy's topic and discussion will be "Presidents in the Movies." He will try to answer the question why there are so few movie biographies, aside from Lincoln, on U.S. Presidents. Sy will celebrate his 30th Anniversary at 22 News this coming July, 2009.
