Fern Spierer is Special Events Manager of the American Lung Association of Massachusetts.

She will be introduced by Ed Sunter.

KRISTEN BRENNAN - Gardening the Community

 

Kristin Brennan is the Director of Gardening the Community, a youth agriculture project in Springfield.  The program works with teenagers to reclaim vacant urban lots and transform them into productive gardens.  The young people learn basic skills of growing food, participating in community development, and cariing for their environment. She and her husband's lifestyle of urban homesteading and community living has been covered by NPR, the Today Show, and The Springfield Republican.  Kristin will be introduced by Steve Jablonski.

 


JAZZALICIOUS!  Friday, March 23rd is moments away!  Do you have anything you want to turn in for the auction?  Now is the time to do it.  Roy Scott, our auctioneer, is looking forward to a successful evening of high-bid auctioning.  Carol Armour's baskets are waiting to be topped off with just the right item.  There will be four different types of hors d'ouvres;  entertainment by Jonathan Lorentz Jazz Trio;  and wines by Fette's Wines & Spirits.  Parking  that can be validated are Sheraton Parking, Tower Square, and 91 North and South parking lots.  Doors open at  6 pm.  It's not too late to sell tickets to this gala affair!  Tickets also available at the door.


MEMBER NEWS:

Best wishes for a full recovery to Clare Keefe who is having difficulty walking at the moment.  Clare

sends her love and looks forward to attending meetings once again.

 

The Springfield Rotary Club extends their sympathy to the family of Adolph Yodlowski who passed away Monday, March 5, 2007.  Adolph was a 38-year member of our Club.

 

March 2nd was a "must attend" meeting to experience the Villa Jidiots who sent us the following:

"The Villa Jidiots just wanted to thank you for a very fun afternoon.  You folks...know how to have

fun!  Thanks for making our day!  Chris for the Jidiots."  And we say "thanks" to Carol Harris for arranging their visit.
