KEVIN O'HARA, THE DONKEYMAN
Kevin O'Hara comes to us highly recommended by Janet Edwards of Edwards Books. Kevin is the Pittsfield author of Last of the Donkey Pilgrims, a memoir of this Vietnam vet's unusual way of touring his ancestral home of Ireland----by the age-old method of traveling by donkey cart with Missy, his faithful donkey. Kevin's 1,800-mile trek around the whole of Ireland introduced him to some incredible characters, allowed him to experience the Irish in all their glory, and. . . best of all, find himself. Janet Edwards promises to have copies of Kevin's book available for purchase. An autographed gift of storytelling and a bit of Irish fantasy---a good read and/or a perfect Father's Day gift!
Plus new feature: TOAST OF THE TOWN
At the June 8th meeting, Springfield Rotary Club will be toasting a club somewhere in the
world as a way of continuing the gesture by the Mudgee Australia Club who toasted Springfield
on March 2, 2007. This new quarterly feature is being introduced by member Destiny Dudley, our own special International Outreach Coordinator! Thanks to the efforts of Destiny, this promises to be a fun event.
