FROM THE ARCHIVES:  The Spokesman, Sept. 7, 1928:  "RUMORS - Most of 'em are about like the story of the young ne-er-do-well who went to the city.  It came back that he had made $5,000,000 in stocks in one week in Wall Street.  Investigation proved that it wasn't in New York----it was Chicago; it wasn't stocks ---- it was eggs; it wasn't a week ---- it was a year; it wasn't $5,000,000 ---- it was $5,000; and he didn't make it ---- he lost it."
