IN THE SPOTLIGHT - Fannie Yang Lin - Former Secretary - Board of Directors 2007- 2008
Fannie has served as Secretary of the Board of Directors for several years, and is the Owner/President/CEO of Capuano Care home health services located in East Longmeadow which serves clientele located throughout Western Massachusetts. Fannie is a former 4-year member of the Community Music School of Springfield. She is a member of the American Red Cross of Pioneer Valley. During the years 2002-2004, Fannie served on the Board of the Massachusetts Home Health Association. You might see Fannie on the tennis courts or enjoying gardening. Fannie lives with her husband in Longmeadow and often visits her two daughters, one of whom lives in Seattle, WA and the other in Madrid, Spain. (Thanks to Destiny Dudley for conducting Spotlight interviews)
From the Boardroom: The Board regretfully accepts Fannie Lin's resignation as Secretary of the Board of Directors. Thanks, Fannie, for your service. Regretfully, the Board also announces that
effective November 30, 2007, the position of Office Secretary will be eliminated. And the good news? The expectation is that as members and committees take over the responsibilities of our office secretary, everyone will be motivated to pull together to create the best club that Springfield Rotary can be.
Note from Steve Tredennick and David Lattin of Texas Western Basketball Team:
"...the pleasure of the visit was all ours. Thanks for having us and we hope to see you all again in future visits to the HOF. Give our regards to all of the Club members and if any are in the Round Rock/Austin area they must do a make-up with our club. Best wishes, SBT"

FROM THE ARCHIVES:
The Spokesman - February 14, 1930: "An Exceptional Definition of Rotary"---'Rotary is neither religion nor its substitute. Rather it is the exemplar in ordinary human life of the innate decency of man and the application of decency and gentlemanliness to the problems of the world, the nation, our city, and ourselves.'--- Charles Bennett, Hartford Rotary Club.
The Spokesman - January 10, 1930: "Fifty-six members paid their dues ($20.00) for the first half of 1930, within the first five days after the bills were sent out. Prompt remittance is greatly appreciated as it cuts out unnecessary bookkeeping."
