IN THE SPOTLIGHT:  Gary P. Fishlock – Assistant Secretary, Board of Directors,   2007-2008

Gary is President and CEO of the STCU Credit Union (formerly known as the Springfield Teachers Credit Union) which has offices in Springfield and Westfield.

 

In addition to serving his first year on our Board of Directors, Gary also serves as a Director with H.O.M.E. (Housing Options for Mass Elders) which helps combat predatory lending to the elderly and as a Director with the Central CU Fund (a liquidity source for credit unions). Somehow, Gary finds time to participate with the Mass C.U. League which focuses on meeting the needs of its member credit unions. 

 

As a member of the American Legion, Gary has served as the NY State Sergeant-at-Arms.  In addition he was invited to join the 40 & 8 society, and is a member of the Elks.  As time permits, Gary enjoys sports, music, and walking. 

 

 He and his wife, Betty, live in Westfield and have 4 older children,.  They are the proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren.

FROM THE ARCHIVES:  The Spokesman: October 2, 1942 - "Again we sponsor a benefit for the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children -- An outstanding Rodeo this time, Oct. 11-17.  Less than 2 weeks to prepare...there's work for each of us...Let's all help do a good job."

 

The Spokesman:  November 27, 1942 - "Last Friday evening the club celebrated its twenty-eighth birthday with an excellent Rotary Party.  257 attended including members, their wives and guests....  Each person there seemed to enjoy the dinner and the minstrel show that followed in the ballroom...."
