SPEAKERS:

 

February 1st - Rich Morganstern, RLM Productions "Our City on the River" - The 30 minute movie highlights the positive side of Springfield and its many landmarks. The film was produced and directed by Dr. Stephen Dean, a Springfield chiropractor and filmed and edited by Mr. Morganstern. The video interviews city Councilors Bud L. Williams, Jose F. Tosado, Kateri B. Walsh and Domenic J. Sarno. Williams said he hopes the video will spread the message that from Baystate Medical Center and the colleges to the parks and libraries, Springfield offers a lot. 

 

February 8th - Kathy Townsend, Divorce Mediation Group - Kathleen Townsend has been a practicing family law attorney for more than 25 years and has been recognized nationally as an authority, practitioner and trainer in the rapidly growing field of divorce mediation. She is a co-founder, along with noted family law attorney Bruce D. Clarkin, of The Divorce Mediation Group of Springfield and Northampton. Attorney Townsend is active in leadership positions in statewide family law organizations and is a frequent speaker at seminars for family law practitioners.

Congrats to Rotarian Paul Sears on the opening of Riverview Estates, a condominium project on Route 5 in Holyoke.  It appears to be an extensive undertaking.  You can find out more information on the project at www.SearsCondos.com (sounds like a fineable offense to the Spokesman editor).

FROM THE ARCHIVES:  On Friday, October 30, 1942 - Governor Leverett Saltonstall spoke to Rotary.  His excellency stated that no less than 55 Army and Navy awards have been granted to Massachusetts Industries, the highest percentage awarded to any state in the Union.
