Springfield Rotary - A Message from the Club President

2009-2010 promises to be an exciting and busy year for our club. As always, we will make donations to local non-profits serving the greater Springfield area through our Service Fund. We will also be focusing on two very special projects: one is the Alternative High School in Springfield and the other is a small village in Cambodia. The Cambodian project includes plans to finance a Girl Guides troop, provide supplies to teachers in the village school, and generally improve the quality of llife for the people who live there. This project will be accomplished in conjunction with a Cambodian Rotary Club. These two projects were chosed to help further the purpose opf Rotary International which is the promotion of peace and understanding through local and global projects.

Our club meets Fridays at 12:15 p.m. at the Basketball Hall of Fame in downtown Springfield. There are an infinite number of oppportunities to live the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" so please, drop by for a visit. Each week provides a lively program, including a speaker, and a great meal provided by Max's Tavern. Meet the men and women of the Springfield Rotary Club and explore the possibility of becoming one of a select group of individuals world-wide who are working to eradicate polio, promote world peace and understanding, and share the comradery that only working together can bring.
