Ranch Golf Pro Bill Rosenblum, PGA Head Golf Professional at The Ranch Golf Club of Southwick, MA will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on Friday, April 28th. Bill’s topic will be on his teaching philosophy, fitness, and the state of the game.
Bill Rosenblum has more than 20 years of experience at high-end private and semi-private golf facilities. Prior to accepting the Head Professional position at The Ranch Golf Club, Bill was the General Manager/PGA Head Golf Professional at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, MA; Head Golf Professional at Oronoque Country Club in Stratford, CT. and Wentworth Hills Golf Club in Plainville, Massachusetts.
Bill is a member of the Connecticut Section PGA, and has served on the Rules & Competition and Tournament Committees and was the Vice President of the Western Massachusetts Chapter of the CTPGA. In 2017, Bill was named the Merchandiser of the Year for public golf facilities in the Connecticut Section PGA.
The Basketball Hall of Fame Makes Contribution to the Rotary Club of Springfield
On Friday April 21, 2017, Frank Colaccino, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Governor; CEO of the Colvest Group and Committee Chair of the 2016 Holiday Showcase / Service Above Self Luncheon Committee, along with Paul Lambert, Vice President of Enshrinement Services & Community Engagement at the Hall, presented a check for $3,500 to the Rotary Club of Springfield.
The contribution was from the proceeds of the 7th Annual Holiday Showcase/Service Above Self luncheon held at the Hall of Fame last November. The 2016 Service Above Self Award Winners were local honoree, Susan Jaye-Kaplan and national honoree Spencer Hayward, for living out the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”. The contribution will be used for the Rotary clubs Service Fund grants, which are awarded to Springfield based tax-exempt, non-profit organizations for capital items.
The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at The Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue, Springfield, and is a proud member of Rotary International. District 7890 Training Assembly
There is an upcoming Rotary District Training meeting for all Presidents-elect, Secretaries-elect, Treasurers-elect and Membership Chairs, along with incoming Foundation, membership, public relations, strategic planning and new member orientation. Keynote Speaker: Past District Governor Kevin Hilgers will be the keynote speaker. He and his family have an extensive Rotary background. He has been a Rotarian since 1997 and his list of Rotary jobs, past and present, is quite extensive. During his year as Governor, his District (#5370) raised over $4 million for the Foundation and had the highest District membership increase in the Zone. He is sure to have some great ideas for improving Rotary clubs and spurring membership growth and retention. His full biography is attached to this email.
