Greetings Fellow Rotarians
Happy 2017 to you...it's going to be another wonderful Rotary year filled with several service above self acts.  Why am I so sure?  Because of you!  Each of us make a positive difference and your involvement and giving above self acts are why you joined Rotary!

This Friday, we shall welcome our guest speaker Frank Wargo, our District Governor.

Frank has been a Rotarian since 1983 and has served as Club President (1996-97), AG Chairman of Alumni, Permanent Fund and Grants Committee, and District Governor for 7890 in 2000-01.  Frank has served on the Rotary Leadership Institute abroad as its Vice Chairman for two years and has taught faculty as far away as India and Nepal.  Frank has also represented the President of Rotary International at five district conferences and been a key note speaker at many district conferences and zone events around the world.  Frank and his wife Priscilla have travelled to every continent on the globe observing projects of the Rotary Foundation.

Frank has worked with other Rotarians to develop and implement many matching grants in these countries.  In his community, Frank has served on the Board of Education, Planning Commission, Board of Finance and 16 years as a member of the Town Council.  Frank was a Special Education teacher for 10 years before founding Fire Control Service Co., Inc. in his hometown of New Milford where he and his wife Priscilla raised their two sons, Scott and Todd, and now enjoy their grandchildren Ashley, Tyler and Sofia. There is so much more Frank has done internationally and locally; we look forward to him sharing his many stories with us on Friday.

As you are aware, Dene and Jack officially launched our fundraising effort and initiative to achieve our 2016/2017 Rotary Foundation Drive Goal of $6,000.  THANK YOU!  We have 26 members who have pledged to contribute $100.00 donation to the Foundation and $33.33 to Polio.  We certainly have a generous club who understand the impact we make globally.  A letter has gone to you to thank you and to ask for your support.  Dene and Jack, thank you for preparing and sending out these letters during the busy holiday season…thank you!  If you have not had a chance to send your donations for the Foundation or Polio, please do so today…we need your support to continue our rankings so we may obtain future grants.
