Greeting Fellow Rotarians,
We will not be meeting this coming Friday due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. My wife Elizabeth and I want to extend a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Thank you to all of Club Members who have supported the Sue Mastroianni and the Gray House in their Fill the Plate Challenge.
The Service Above Self Luncheon will take place on December 4, 2015. Thank you for visiting clubs and supporting the luncheon through the purchase of tickets, sponsorships, and advertisements. We still have room for more guests, so please spread the word to your networks. The event allows for The Club to gain exposure in our community and it’s a great opportunity to network. When Paul Harris created Rotary, business networking was one aspect of his vision for the organization and the Service Above Self luncheon has become a premier place to do so in our community. Please consider bringing a prospective member.
We are continuing our 2015 Foundation Drive. Hats off to Dene Kimball who continues to move us towards 100% participation. If you have already given a gift, thank you for your generosity. If you haven’t, please make your contribution in any amount in line with your budget. Please consider using our new “Donate Now” button on the Club’s website. You will have the opportunity to make a gift to the Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus, or the Service Fund. Thank you to Rick Lee who has been working behind the scenes as our IT man for making all this happen. All gifts start a ripple effect of positive good across the world. In the November Rotarian magazine, a physician in Nigeria speaks about the effort to insure Nigeria remains polio free. The article speaks of how the Foundation works in conjunction with the World Health Organization and USAID to deliver health service to Nigeria.
I was happy to induct Brennan Collins into the Club on November 13th. Brennan will be joining the special events and fundraising committee. We are infancy stages of planning a Paul Harris Event for May of 2016. Details to follow.
