President's Message

Dear Fellow Rotarians

We are looking forward to hosting Mayor Domenic Sarno at this Friday’s meeting and fellow candidate Sal Circosta on October 9th, 2015.  We are looking forward to hearing the ideas of the two candidates to continue to enhance our City.

The Club will be launching our 2015-2016 Rotary Foundation Drive in October.  Dene Kimball has been working to prepare materials for the drive that will you will be receiving in your mailbox soon.  We are asking every Rotarian to contribute $100 to The Rotary Foundation(TRF), your support of the TRF that has a global ripple effect to advance peace and understanding worldwide.

On Thursday November 5th, the District 7890 Foundation Dinner will be held at Chez Josef from 5:30PM to 9:00PM.  The cost of a ticket is $45.  The Club is planning to purchase a table for 8.  The District event is a great way to meet Rotarians from other clubs and to hear the global reach of The Rotary Foundation.

On Saturday November 7th, The Rotary Leadership Institute is taking place at the MassMutual Training Center in Chicopee, MA.  Lucie Lewis and Dene Kimball will be completing Part II of the training.  Samir Patel and I will be completing Part I.  We have one more spot to fill.  The event will run from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, a light breakfast and buffet lunch is served.

If you would like to attend either the Foundation Dinner on November 5th or Rotary Leadership Institute on November 7th, please contact me at jtoner@sumnertoner.com

Thank you for all you do to make the Rotary Club of Springfield have a positive impact locally and globally.

Sincerely,

Jack

OnBoard Event!

Rotary will be participating in OnBoard event on October 8th. All members are strongly encouraged to participate. Forty organizations are participating in this event, please represent Rotary in attending this free event at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

OnBoard is an all volunteer-led nonprofit whose mission it is to connect talented individuals with organizations seeking to increase diversity on their boards and committees by expanding their governance capacity and enlisting women, people of color and other under-represented populations.

We hold this event every two years to give potential board members an opportunity to meet with local organizations so that they can gain access and contribute to area Boards.  So often Boards are challenged with recruiting beyond their immediate circle of influence and miss potentially great contributors who could help them fulfill and even expand their mission! If your interested as a nonprofit or as an attendee looking to become involved on a board, then please see below for registration on the website or via Eventbrite!
